A friend and fellow "brother" from the Home Depot in Newmarket , Ontario , Canada , reports there is a major disdain within the staff .

Seems that the management lead the staff to believe that the store would have a large "Share The Success" check to split between the "associates" . They had an "All Store Meeting" on Sunday September 16th. To reveal the check size and give all the associates the great news . There was a great hoopin and hollerin through-out the meeting with backslapping and handshakes from the management . Roast beef sandwiches were served .They also gave away gifts to some of the fortunate staff that had their names pulled from a hat .

At the end the the meeting the store manager made the "Great Reveal" ! The staff would share...$8590.00...between 300 associates !

What A Great Incentive ! Considering that the store went almost a half a million dollars over forecast . This is how the store received their "great windfall" .

The store gets 7% of the nearly $500,000 that figure was whittled down from Atlanta to $ 345,000.00 , why i dunno neither does the staff ! OK 7% of 345thousand dollars is $24,150.00 . Divide that into 300 equal parts and each person would receive $80.50 for six months hard work . Very tidy some , no ? No it isn't . That would be a crappy story if that happened , but it gets worse .

$24,150.00 was again whittled down as managers and store support took theirs and also in-store items needed to be fixed , beams etc...also some workers were hurt last year on the job so that had to be paid for out of it (Why Dunno Again) . That all came up to $15,650.00 which came to their final sum of $8590.00 . Whoo Hoo .

Did I say that was it ? Well it wasn't . Not all associates are created equal at "The Depot" so some were given larger checks due to their "hours worked" in the last six months . So the checks received were from $30.00-$42.00 for full time workers to $5.00-$20.00 for part-time workers .

I heard that a couple of associates wept as they read how much money was actually in their checks .

How can store managers and HR's shake peoples hands and congratulate them in a great success they had , at the same time then stab them right in the back . These people are cruel , heartless , conniving , liars and thieves .

The best part of this story is the staff paid for this event out of their own pockets .

Let’s see, a large corporation bending its workers over - and this comes as a surprise because??? Don’t forget the gov’t is going to want a taste of that 80 bucks. You might be able to buy a hotdog from the dude out in front of the store if you’re lucky.
 
What I understand Phosgene Kid nobody in the store received $80.00 the most , I understand , was $42.00 .

Yes the government took their share .

take a good look at how much we were over
take a better look at the % of that overage associates split
only had 230 associates in the store
and finally...
A CHEQUE FOR ANY AMOUNT IS BETTER THAN NO CHEQUE!!
 
Here's The facts "depot123" ?
Associates did pay out of their pockets , as the food was paid for by the stores "social comity" , the staff pays into this . DAILY !

What was written in the post was acccurate . He or she took in what "WE"(?) were over and wrote it down quite c-l-e-a-r-l-y ! The largest % went to managers and in house repairs (something the Home Depot writes off on taxes every year !).

So keep your cheque and shove it !
Or better still you'll need it to pay off that "golden hand shake" your boys paid-out to Bob Nardelli !

ya associates pay into daily by buying bottled water and ice cream for 50 cents, go buy it out of the machine and pay full price idiot!!
If you have your facts staraight preacher than you know that the profit sgharing cheque was only for associates, not managers! And you know that the whole amount the store is over is NOT divided between everyone, only a percentage of it is (we sell tools that cost money for the company to buy) we get the profit of the $$ the store was over, nothing else deducted, ass, hence profit sharing. you sound like a union rep with his head up his ass, not an associate

I deleted the last few comments because they became very familiar and truly vulgar .

Also the facts were not being submitted ! Just feelings and innuendo .

The facts are on the main page . As per Bob there never was a statement that salaried managers received any moneys from "Share The Success" . Just D.S.'s and head office . So your quotes were unrequited .

Wallycrawler and 123 you two have severe problems with one another and suggest a meeting to bring all out to light .
